An Engineer by training, Roger has 40 years’ experience in general management in the construction, chemical and environmental sectors.  The last 30 years have been spent largely in waste management, heading several of the leading companies internationally and in the UK and pioneering a number of innovative processes, including the generation of electricity from landfill gas, which is now in common usage. He also has considerable commercial, contractual and financial management experience of long-term capital projects.

Roger is currently Executive Chairman of Castle Environmental and a non-executive director of a number of private and public companies in the waste management and renewable energy sectors.

Roger continues to play a leading role in the evolution of waste management policy and practice.  He is Deputy Chairman of the UKTI Environmental Services Advisory Group (ESAG) and a member of the Government’s Hazardous Waste Forum.  He is a past Chairman and Treasurer of the Environmental Services Association and is the Chairman of WAMITAB (the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board).  Roger is the Honorary Treasurer of the Chartered Institution of Waste Management and was its President from 2000 to 2001.

Roger is a Freeman of the City of London and a Liveryman and Master of the Worshipful Company of Water Conservators.
